Challenge was to create in an very dense urban environment, Achrafieh area of Beirut city, within an existing school premises, a covered basket-ball arena with 5000 seats, designed as per NBA standards and specifications, without altering the school operations and accessibility, and preserving recess space for students.

Special attention was given to public pedestrian and vehicle circulations, in order to be totally separated from school access.

Natural lighting of underground arena was also a big challenge, solved with large sloped glazed areas, North oriented.
